Rick Laney, Kirk Cameron and Warren Barfield
If you’ve followed this blog, you know that I am co-director of a nonprofit group called Feed Your Faith. This is what I do in my “spare” time. Five years ago, one of my dearest friends, Mike Williams, started Feed Your Faith on little more than an idea and a desire to help those in need. His concept was simple — bring in Christian authors, speakers and music groups to “feed” the faithful while raising money to literally feed those in need. I joined Mike shortly after he started the group and we have been a two-man team ever since.
What started with events attended by 100 or 150 people that generated a few hundred dollars for groups like Knox Area Rescue Ministries and Family Promise has turned into a big deal. Last year, our first Kirk Cameron marriage conference was attended by 9,000 people and generated nearly $15,000 for the brand new Family Promise of Blount County.

Immediately after that event, Mike and I were asked by Kirk Cameron to “duplicate” that conference throughout the Southeast U.S. — and that is exactly what is happening right now. So far this year, we’ve been to Lexington and Atlanta. In coming weeks, we will be in Boca Raton, Florida followed quickly by additional conferences in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Oklahoma. It has been nothing short of a miracle what has been accomplished by two guys working on their own computers (we joke that the “luxurious” Feed Your Faith offices are in my bedroom and Mike’s basement) who have somehow been able to keep the focus on what we originally set out to accomplish.
During this time, Mike and I have changed jobs, been through personal struggles, dealt with his alternating night shifts and day shifts, had guest speakers “disappear” on us the night before major events, and watched as our headline speaker walked off an airplane with a fever of 104-degrees who was asking to be taken immediately to the emergency room. Through it all, Mike has been a great friend and an awesome partner — and I love him to death. Surprisingly, when I look back on all of this, it’s been nothing but fun and a real blessing to be involved with.

Mike Williams, founder of Feed Your Faith
I’m really proud of where Feed Your Faith started and I’m really proud of where it is today. We haven’t lost an ounce of desire to do what we planned to do from the very first day Mike Williams asked me, “What would happen if we …”
We just had two new videos produced that you can watch below. They are a far cry from the posters we used to make for our events on our ink-jet printers. The one on top is specifically about the Feed Your Faith LOVE WORTH FIGHTING FOR Tour featuring Kirk Cameron and Warren Barfield. The other is an overview of a variety of events Feed Your Faith has produced over the past five years. If you want to learn more about Feed Your Faith, I have a complete category on this blog (just click the link here) or just go to our website here. Please take a few minutes (literally … just a few minutes) and watch the videos below. Jonathan Crandall did these videos and he’s a true artist (thank you Jonathan !!).
